Principle Energy Limited (PEL), an international investment opportunity to which Craton has committed, is a developer of alternative energy and biofuel development projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. PEL’s first development, located in Dombe, Mozambique, is a vertically integrated sugarcane-based ethanol operation. The facility is expected to generate in excess of 60 million gallons of ethanol and over 30 megawatts of electricity each year once it reaches full production levels.
In addition to producing low-carbon fuel, the Dombe Project supports the Mozambique government in achieving its economic and infrastructure development goals. The project will employ over 2,000 local residents and provide for the expansion of schools and housing while remaining committed to sustainable harvesting and irrigation practices. Low overhead costs allow this development’s fuel production to be significantly less than conventional biofuel opportunities, providing for a greater return on investment. |
