Richard Stuebi has 25 years of experience as an executive, entrepreneur, and consultant in the energy industry, with most of the past decade focused on advanced energy technologies and business opportunities.

Based in Cleveland, he splits his time between private sector and civic activities to accelerate commercial activity in advanced energy technologies in the surrounding region. He is a managing director at Early Stage Partners, a Cleveland -based venture capital firm, where he leads the firm's activities to invest in promising ventures developing and commercializing advanced energy and environmental technologies.

He is also the President of NextWave Energy, a professional services firm he founded in 1999 to provide support on opportunities relating to the transition to an advanced energy economy. In addition to assisting companies with a wide variety of services to capitalize on new business opportunities involving innovative energy technologies, he is also assisting a variety of initiatives stemming from his efforts at The Cleveland Foundation, where he has been the Fellow for Energy and Environmental Advancement since 2006.

Previously, he was a senior vice president at the global commodity trading firm Louis Dreyfus, a management consultant in the energy practice of McKinsey & Co., and an economic analyst at ICF Resources.

Richard serves on the board of EnLink Geoenergy Services and MAR Systems, is a member of the advisory board of the Generation Foundation and GLWN, and remains heavily involved in two Cleveland-based civic organizations – NorTech Energy Enterprise and the Lake Erie Energy Development Corporation – that he helped launch. He is a frequent speaker on energy and environmental topics, and he shares his perspectives weekly at www.cleantechblog.com.

Richard holds degrees in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University.
